J.M INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL ,DWARKA exuberantly celebrated Anveshan and Environment week , from 16th April to 22nd April, 2024 that allowed students to navigate the seas of innovation with Anveshan, where curiosity met discovery, and also paved journey towards a sustainable future together.
Under the guidance and motivation of the school Principal Dr Amita Saxena, various activities
Anveshan and Environment week were conducted during the entire week.
1.Quiz competition was conducted on 16th April, 2024 from Grades VIII to XII on the theme - Change in climate and climate action to raise awareness among students about these critical global issues. The quiz aimed to educate participants on the causes and effects of climate change, as well as the various ways individuals, communities and government and non-government agencies can take action to mitigate its impacts. The winners were awarded with the merit certificates.
2. Poster making: Poster making competition was held on 18th April,2024 for grades VI- to VIII, Themes allotted were sustainable development (life below water) for Grades VI & VII, and affordable and clean energy for grade VIII. Through their creative expressions, students illustrated the urgency of protecting marine ecosystems and the viability of clean energy solutions.
Best posters were awarded with excellence certificates.
3. Powerpoint presentation- Grades IX and X students presented waste management presentations. Science teachers evaluated the presentations. By highlighting the environmental impacts of improper waste management and offering practical solutions, the presentations aimed to take action towards a more sustainable future.
4. Treasure from trash (Grades III- V) & The "Recycle - Best Out of Waste ( Wall Hanging ) activity was held from grades VI -VII on 20th of April. Participants were encouraged to repurpose materials that would otherwise be discarded, showcasing their artistic skills while contributing to waste reduction.
The "Recycle - Best Out of Waste" activity focussed on creating wall hangings and was a successful endeavor that not only showcased students' creativity but also promoted sustainability.
5. Group Discussion on the topic Household Biodegradable Waste was held on 18 th April ,for Grades XI & XII to raise awareness among students about the importance of managing organic waste in an environment friendly manner. The discussion aimed to explore the types of biodegradable waste generated in households, the benefits of composting, and practical tips for implementing sustainable waste management practices.
6. Fun with experiments and Miniature model making The Anveshan & Environment week culminated with ‘Fun with experiments‘ exhibition and miniature model making event for Grades VI- XII and it was a resounding success, providing an enriching and educational experience to the students. Through interactive experiments, miniature models, and hands-on learning students had the opportunity to explore scientific concepts in a fun and engaging way. The event not only showcased the creativity and knowledge of our students but also promoted scientific inquiry and STEM education within the school community.
